In addition to the following events, the Galena
Artists’ Guild is constantly developing new venues
for the public to view and purchase the vast range
of fine arts represented in its membership.
First Fridays: The Guild sponsors “First Friday”
art receptions highlighting the works of one or
more artists on the first Fridays of most months.
These events are free and open to the public
featuring an extensive hors d’oeuvres table and
a cash bar at the Galena Elks Lodge, 123 N.
Main St. from 6 to 8 p.m.
Gallery Walks: The Galena Artists’ Guild hosts
several Saturday night gallery walks in downtown
Galena. On those evenings, galleries or
shops which exhibit original art work are open
extended hours, at least through 8 p.m. and
later if they choose.
Artful Affair at the Winery: The public is invited
to the Guild’s annual early summer member
show and sale at the Galena Cellars Vineyard in
the beautiful Galena countryside. For a small
entry fee, attendees are treated to a glass of
fine Galena Cellars wine to enjoy while viewing
artists’ works. It has become one of our most
popular events.
Card Blanc: A once a year event offering the
public the opportunity to purchase unique note
and greeting cards created by artist members
of the Guild is held on the first Friday of
September on the second floor of the Galena
Elks Lodge, 123 N. Main St. from 6 to 8 PM.
Galena Artists' Guild Gallery: The Guild operates
a member gallery at 324 Spring St. (Rt. 20) in Galena and plans five to six member
art shows annually. The gallery is open Thursday through Monday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and for a few days after each show in order
to set up the new show. Check the calendar on this website for scheduled openings.
